Silence Means Writing

I’m in the creativity cocoon. I am off catching things in the creativity net!

I am doing a lot of writing and reading off line. I have been journalling some great memories from the year, like meeting Tim Winton and some of the writing workshops I have been to.

I have been working with a writing mentor, and preparing pieces for her feedback, and then responding to that feedback.

There is a novel to outline (which I will write over the summer), a picture book to start, and a whole draft of poems that I may send out to magazines for children’s poetry, as well as a short story I want to enter into a competition for a little while longer before sending it to a journal.

During this time my blog, just waits. I think the best way to keep it going is to just write you short notes of how the creative projects are going.

Magic Fish Dreaming was launched, but due to a few hiccups caused by circumstances beyond my control, it will be fully released in a few more weeks. These were not things I could have ever forseen, but life often just has little twists and turns!

I have been creating a sorting area in my house ready to package and send all the Magic Fish Dreaming parcels out, and have the address labels almost prepared. Off to pick up a trestle table or op shop table to complete the set up.

I was sad to find out that one of my kickstarter supporters passed away from cancer, and I am on a quest to find an address to send his book to, maybe to his grandchildren, and a friend of his is seeing what she can do to help me find out.

Apart from that in the poetry of life, I find there is much to be thankful and grateful for. Friendships, relatively good health (although the psoriasis often reminds me to take life easier), and a dear family.
